Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose tales of heartbreak in the early years achieved wide success in the early 20th century. Swift's love for music started in the early years of her life. From plays for children to singing in front of thousands of people, Swift made rapid progress. Swift in 2011, then 11, sang The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers' basketball game. Following that, she began to write songs of her own. Swift took inspiration from artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks in order to write original music which reflected the alienation she felt at 13 years old. Swift's parents moved her from Pennsylvania to Tennessee when she was thirteen after they sold their Pennsylvania farm. This enabled Swift to be more active in courting labels for traditional music from Nashville.
